You are NOT Too Busy
Apr 17, 2023"Go the EXTRA MILE.
It's never crowded there."
- Dr. Wayne Dyer
When was a time in your life when you remember someone going the "Extra Mile" for you?
What is it that you remember most about it?
What impact did it have on you?
Spend 10 seconds remembering it...
What thoughts are coming into your mind as you play back being on the receiving end of that extra mile moment or moments.
What about it makes you remember it?
Was it the sacrifice? The thoughtfulness? The compassion?
Does anyone remember feeling what I call "Happy Convicted Gratitude?????"
You are super Happy then Convicted by what was just done for you & Happy that it's really happening.
Maybe you are smiling right now just recalling THAT act of kindness where someone blew you away?!?!?!?
I am VERY grateful & blessed to have been on the receiving end of many, many EXTRA MILE love, support, help, action, and rescue.
(I want to list them all, but don't want to leave anyone out!! You know who you are - family, strangers, neighbors - and thanks again!!)
Still thinking you just don't, "Have the time & are too busy?"
Think about all the people that served you and went the extra mile ~
- Was it that they had the time or made the time?
- Were there not 10 other things they could have done during that time?
- Did all of their other responsibilities and duties reach out to them that day & say, "Hey, that's ok. Don't pay that bill, go to the gym, clean the house, go grocery shopping, etc. It's OK - it will all just get done magically?"
Ok - being a bit silly, but it wasn't that busyness went away.
It was that something was more important, of higher priority and was chosen.
Yes - YOU were Prioritized.
YOU were shown Importance.
Time was made for YOU!
Sometimes it's the big things & we super appreciate it!
Other times, it can be those smaller Random Acts Of Kindness that knock us off our busy little feet.

I just stood there in amazement...
What?
Wait....
What does the 'average' not going the extra-mile person do when they find a wet, waterlogged cushion on the ground, or near the bench or whatever?
THEY KEEP MOVING -
THEY MIGHT FEEL A LITTLE BIT LIKE, "OH, THAT'S A SHAME"
OR MAYBE...
"IT'S A CUSHION FOR PETE'S SAKE!!!"
But not this person...
Yeah, but they don't have my life... they don't have my kids... they don't have my job... etc., etc., etc.
This person MADE THE TIME to prioritize this person, their cushion, kept it all winter and then reinstalled the cushion on what they hoped was the right bench.
Who does that??
Someone who is not brainwashed by the world that time is something we have or don't have.
Time is made.
I hope this is not coming across harsh...
Rather, if we are going to live the Extra Mile Life, we have to change our perspective on time & engage at levels that are outside of time, logic and the norm.
We GET to be people who can prioritize others in hopes to somehow become like our unnamed mentor and example, the Good Samaritan!
Best,
Dave
